Tampa Residential Facility is a program designed to teach male youth ages 14 to 18 accountability through a Restorative Justice approach and addresses thinking errors through a cognitive behavioral treatment modality.  Structure is offered through implementation of a daily activity schedule, which offers physical education, substance abuse treatment, life skills, anger management and academics designed to culminate in obtaining either a GED or high school diploma.  The typical length of stay is seven to nine months.

Academic programs are provided by Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS).  Students are enrolled in the district MIS system.  All teachers are certified as defined by No Child Left Behind.  A formal cooperative agreement between the district and DJJ is in place.
